John Graham and Cisco's "First Team" Honoree for Cloud Computing
Sr. Director Manufacturing and Energy Industry Solutions
Internet of Everything, Thought Leadership, Manufacturing, Cloud
Every year, Automation World magazine uses and open-ended survey of automation professionals to ask them who their favorite suppliers are for technology. For 2019, Cisco was selected as a first team honoree for Cloud Computing.
So, I think why? Why would numerous people who are focused on industrial automation pick Cisco as a leader in Cloud Computing?
Here are my top reasons:
-The need for secure connectivity is growing now more than ever. We know that the network is the foundation to connect things and get data from them.
-As more of that data is gathered, there is a need to ingest the data and analyze it. This lets us apply business logic and take action on the data.
-The infrastructure that allows us to leverage the data must be flexible and powerful. It has to allow for different deployment scenarios based on how the customer wants to operate.
Cisco’s cloud computing portfolio has the breadth, strength and depth to provide the right infrastructure to leverage this data. If you want to run a private cloud, we have the solutions to let you do that with our data center portfolio combined with containers running on networking hardware. If you want to run a hybrid cloud with some of your applications and data running in public provider environments we have solutions with AWS, Google and Microsoft Azure. From public clouds to on-premises. From applications to infrastructure. We bring together networking, security, analytics, and management to help you connect, protect, and consume clouds in a multicloud world.
When you combine Cisco’s Cloud Computing solutions with our strength in industrial networking and security we have an end to end approach that is market leading. I believe the readers of Automation World realize this too!
